FROM ISSYKKUL TO OSH – 12 days

 

Program: 

Day 1 /  ... – Bishkek:

Arrival to Manas airport in Bishkek. Meeting with the Kyrgyz guide translator and driver. Transfer to the guest house in the center of the Kyrgyz capital. Shower, rest and breakfast after a long flight. Lunch in a local restaurant. First discovery of the city’s central squares, and the market of “Osh bazaar” which is the part of Central Asian culture. Osh bazaar is the 2nd biggest market in Bishkek, which is situated in the centre. Market is always lively and colorful. You can find there from food to any clothes. Dinner in a local restaurant. Walk around the developing capital. Visiting the monuments and buildings from the USSR. Overnight in the guest house.

Day 2 / Bishkek – Chon Kemin village:

After breakfast departure towards the east. We drive to the Chon Kemin National Park. On the road visit Burana tower, which dates from the 11th century. Burana tower was constructered during the Karakhanids. The reasons of building are many. The legends about the tower will be told by your guide during the exploration. Outdoor picnic. In the afternoon arrival to the Karool Dobo village which is in the National Park. Accommodation in a local homestay. Walk and explore the village. In the Park are so many fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight with the local family. 170km.

Day 3 / Chon Kemin – Karakol:

After a good breakfast in a friendly homestay, we head to Lake Issyk-Kul, the pearl of Tien Shan, the first curiosity of Kyrgyzstan. On the route we stop visit the Konorchek . canyon. Lunch in a restaurant at the canyon Boom. Afternoon, we drive to the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. Stop on the beach of Cholpon Ata. Opportunity to swim in the lake. In the late afternoon arrival to Karakol. Installation in a local guest house. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in the guest house. 300km.

Day 4 / Karakol – Bokonbaeva:

After breakfast visit the city center, the Orthodox church and the Dungan mosque. Karakol is considered to be the colonial houses of the USSR. Then transfer to the Memorial Museum of Mr. Prjevalsky, who was a great explorer of Central Asia in 19th century. Back to Karakol. Purchase of picnic. Following road to Jeti-Oguz valley, the valley of the Seven Bulls, the rocks of the interesting formations. Picnic among breathtaking scenery. Following the road to the southern shore of the lake. Arriving to the village of Bokonbaeva. Demonstration of traditional hunting with the eagles. Installation in a yurt camp. 130km.

Day 5 / Bokonbaeva – Son Kul:

Morning departure. Visit the manufacturing of the yurt. The manufacturer will show you the proccess of constrcting the yurt. Then visit the handicraft center in Kochkor. Possibility to buy handmade souvenirs. Lunch in Kochkor. We drive through the Pass of Kalmak Ashu, special pass joining the mountainous lake Son-Kul. Nice panoramic view from the pass to the mountainous lake. Son Kul lake is a paradise for nomadic people. Local shepherds come for the summer to pasture their animals and live there untill October. Arrival to the yurt camp on the southern shore. Installation in warm yurts. Walk and free time at the yurt camp. Dinner and overnight in the yurt. Night under the crystal clear sky with the view for the unnumerous stars 280km.

Day 6 / Son Kul:

In the morning, we go in search and explore of petroglyphs in the hills of Son Kul. Altitude of Son Kul lake is 3016m. and has an area of about 270 km2. The Lake is the 2nd largest lake in Kyrgyzstan after Issyk Kul Lake, and the largest fresh water lake in Kyrgyzstan. Picnic in the mountains with a panoramic view of the nature. Back to yurt camp. Demonstration of Central Asian equestrian games. Night and dinner at the same yurt camp as the day before.

Day 7 / Kizil Oy:

After breakfast with the local family, we start walking around. We are riding on the horses full day. Be sure by the endurance and passion of the horses provided by I’m Nomad travel agency. Picnic in the mountains with the panoramic view on the mountains. Back to guest house. Night and dinner at the same homestay. 7 / 8h of horse riding.

Day 8 / Kizil Oy – Toktogul:

Early morning we leave our guest house, through the Suusamyr Valley. Visit a small local museum, dedicated to the local hero. Following the road to Ala-Bel Pass at 3150m. Stop near the pass. Walking around the beautiful landscape . Descent to the town of Toktogul, the canyon Chychkan. Possibility to walk around the canyon Chichkan. Arrival and accommodation with a local friendly family. Toktogul is very famous for its natural honey and crystal clear water, got from the mountainous river Chichkan. Posibility to buy natural honey. Dinner with the local family. Demonstration of the national musical instrument. 230km.

Day 9 / Toktogul – Arslanbob:

Morning departure. We drive along the biggest reservoir Toktogul. On the road we stop near the first and biggest HydroElectroStation Kurpsai. Then, through the canyon of Naryn, we drive to the Fergana Valley. Driving to the west, we meet the cotton fields. Lunch in a local famous Chaikhana in Kochkor Ata. In the afternoon, we reach the village of Arslanbob. It is a small and friendly Uzbek village in the middle of the mountains and forest nuts. Accommodation in a local homestay. Walking around the village. Night and dinner with a local family. 330km.

Day 10 / Arslanbob:

Day of discovery the local culture and walnut forest. Kyrgyzstan has the largest forest of nuts in the world. Picnic in the forest. Walkig to the waterfalls. Discovering the local bazaar. Back to our guest house. Opportunity to explore the cook with the local family. Night and dinner in a homestay.

Day 11 / Arslanbob – Osh:

In the morning we leave the village of Arslanbob. On the road we visit the minaret in the town of Uzgen. Uzgen minaret is remains of the Karakhanids lived in the 11th century BC. Following road to the Osh. Osh is sometimes referred as the southern capital of the city. Lots of attractions and opportunities in Osh. Installation in the guesthouse. Walk and discovery of the ancient city. Dinner and overnight in a friendly local family. 200km.

Day 12 / Osh – return flight:

During the night, transfer to the airport. Return flight to home. End of service !
